Each Salem Doula is independent. We are each different in our approach and may offer a variety of services based on our own individual training and experience.
A Birth Doula provides:
*Emotional support *Explanations of medical procedures *Help with preparation of a birth vision *Positioning suggestions during labor and birth *Help support the partner so that they can love and encourage the laboring woman *Help avoid unnecessary interventions *Help with breastfeeding *Extensive resource information
A Doula Does:
*Work in a positive and professional manner with medical staff
*Advocate for you
*Provide continuous support in the manner that you request
*Facilitate communication A Doula DOES NOT:
*Make medical decisions for you
*Perform medical procedures like blood pressure checks and exams
